Sponsor a stud & leave your mark in Deep East Texas! Decorate a 2x4 wall stud with messages of encouragement, art, or Bible verses that will be built directly into the framework of a new Habitat home.
Each home uses approximately 300 studs (9ft 2x4 pieces of lumber). Here is how you can sponsor and personalize a stud for a local family:
Select your sponsorship tier online ($100 per stud, 3 studs for $250, or 6 studs for $500). Your tax-deductible contribution directly funds build materials for local affordable homes.
Personalize your 9ft stud with artwork, your company logo, words of encouragement, family signatures, or Bible verses (like Jeremiah 29:5) while in your care or choose a pre-decorated stud.
Return your stud by Thursday, September 3 to our Lufkin office. Then join us at the Wall Raising Ceremony to meet the family and watch your stud raised into the home!
Every decorated stud becomes part of the permanent frame surrounding a new homeowner with love, hope, and community support.
100% of proceeds go directly to Habitat for Humanity of Deep East Texas Inc to fund construction materials.

No, it's not a person! A stud is a 2x4 piece of wood used to frame a home. Each stud is 9ft long. It takes up to 300 studs to frame a home, so every single donation makes a direct difference in building wall frames!
Anyone can sponsor! We encourage individuals, families, church groups, schools, local businesses, and corporate teams — the more the merrier! Businesses can also set up a stud-decorating display with a donation jar for their patrons to sign. Nonprofits can contact mwheeler@habitatdetx.org for special pricing.
Decorate your stud however you'd like! Showcase your company logo, write a heartfelt message to the homeowner family, draw a picture, paint it, or sign your name. Please be mindful that any foreign objects attached/adhered to the wood will be removed for construction safety.
Pick up and return your stud at our main office: 415 S First St., Suite 430, Lufkin, TX 75901 (Monday – Friday from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM). Studs can also be delivered and retrieved from your business or home at your convenience upon request. Please return all decorated studs by Thursday, September 3.
With your sponsorship, you will be invited to our Wall Raising Ceremony where you can meet the future homeowner family and help raise the walls of the home to see exactly where your stud(s) ended up in the house framework!
