Our Critical Home Repair program helps low-to-moderate income families stay safely in their homes.
Habitat for Humanity of Deep East Texas partners with existing homeowners to complete critical repairs that address structural issues, health hazards, and mobility barriers. Repairs are performed using volunteer labor and materials, keeping costs manageable and affordable.
Roof repairs and replacement, exterior siding, fascia, decay repair, and weatherproofing to protect the building envelope.
Custom wheelchair ramp construction, grab bars, handrails, door widening, and accessible bathroom modifications for seniors and individuals with mobility needs.
Addressing critical code violations, unsafe steps, rotting porches, and environmental hazards to keep families safe.

Do you own and occupy your single-family home as your primary residence with a clear deed/title?
Have you lived in Angelina or Nacogdoches County as your primary residence for at least one full year?
Does your home require essential repairs to address health, safety, accessibility, or structural integrity issues?
Are you willing to contribute sweat equity hours or assist volunteer crews during the repair process?
Are you able to cover an affordable, sliding-scale repair repayment fee based on your household income?
Does your household gross income fall between 30% and 80% of the HUD Area Median Income guidelines?
